LORDS OF THE MANOR is in one of the most unspoiled villages in the Cotswolds. With church, ford and beautiful cottages grouped around the River Eye, this is a real ‘escape from it’ all destination.

The village is folded into a quiet valley but very handy for the best–known Cotswold villages, gardens and historic houses. The hotel itself has 8 acres of gardens and lawns.

Upper Slaughter tips from the hotel

The walk between Upper and Lower Slaughter is one of the great English short walks, across fields and meadows. Return to ‘Lords’ for afternoon tea on the lawn.

Ask our sommelier for a tour of the wine cellar, with over 1000 bins. The Church of St Peter is ‘doubly blessed’ meaning that every villager returned safelyfrom both World Wars.

Popular excursions include BBC Countryfile presenter Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park, Daylesford Farm Shop, National Trust gardens and Batsford Arboretum for Autumn colour. Antique shopping in nearby Stow is always a pleasure.

Lords is popular for ‘exclusive use’ weddings.
