The Big Feastival
OK it's a pretty bad name for a festival, but the music choices are pretty sussed and there are some culinary 'A' list guests too. All on Alex James’s Cotswolds farm over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Big Feastival is now well-established after a few bumps along the way and it’s a happy, positive event, part of the annual Cotswolds calendar.
2018 includes Craig David, Paloma Faith and Clean Bandit, Professor Green, The Undertones and the potentially surreal sight of the SugarHill Gang tearing it up in the Oxfordshire countryside.
Jamie Oliver curates the foodie element and there’s an exciting line up including - Marco Pierre White, Pierre Koffman and Raymond Blanc will appear. Let’s hope they do their old stuff.
The festival is traditionally excellent for children. This year will see appearances from Peppa Pig, Justin Fletcher, Andy and the Odd Socks, and Dick and Dom.
OK, so there may well be edgier festivals (local petrolhead Clarkson has been spotted here) but everyone seems to have a good time and this one certainly pulls in crowd-pleasing headliners. Attractions include a funfair, lifestyle village (eh?) and a partnership with the lovely Adam Henson’s Farm Park, include a TouchBarn, demonstrations and farming education.
