Cotswolds Show and Food Festival
July 13th and 14th
The Cotswold Show mixes a chance to spot the mustard-trousered Cotswold brigade in situ with the opportunity to encounter some other traditional aspects of Cotswolds Life, old and new. The heart of the show is comprised of country skills such as wood turning, beekeeping, blacksmithing and spinning, plus animals. Lots of them. There are horses, rare breeds, horse whisperers, racing ferrets, alpaca, reindeer, shire horses, falconry, pleasants and poultry and so on. Oh and plenty of horses. It's great fun.
In recent years, the food element of the Show has been enhanced. Producers sell their stuff and there is a cookery theatre with guest chefs from local hotels.
It’s an entertaining couple of days, with the opportunity to try country sports such as off-roading, archery and clay pigeon shooting. Children are well catered for too.

Cirencester is with in easy reach of all the properties - the town is referred to by the local council as the ‘Capital of the Cotswolds’, although we’ve never heard anyone else use that phrase. Anyway, it’s central! Try The Village Pub, Barnsley House or The Hare and Hounds.
