Cotswolds Hotels - What’s new for 2018?

Cotswolds Finest is very proud to welcome two new properties to its collection of Cotswolds Hotels for 2018.

Cotswolds Finest HotelsArtist Residence is a terrific smaller property (with just five bedrooms) in the Oxfordshire village of South Leigh. That puts it within easy range of both Oxford and the Cotswolds, perfect for guests from London and the South East looking for Cotswolds hotels. Bedrooms have a fresh and cool design (Instagram fans will be pretty happy here) and this is a pretty chic new option for visitors to the area.

The accommodation is located over and around an Inn, Mr Hanbury’s Mason Arms. Design values are high here too, with Mr Hanbury's Dining Room. It’s basically one of the most atmospheric of dining rooms amongst Cotswolds hotels, with House of Hackney wallpapers and Connor Brothers contemporary art dotted around. Look out for the Andy Doig neons too. When modern design meets historic pub the results can be inspirational and that’s the case here - full of surprises and a welcome addition to our cast of special Cotswolds hotels.

Dining is heavily centred on the Cotswolds location, especially as the chef is a huge fan of foraging.

Local attractions include Burford, the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Blenheim Palace. Or you can keep sightseeing local too with a trip to the local church to see the medieval ‘doom’ paintings.

Cotswolds hotels - Introducing The Fish

Cotswolds Finest HotelsThe Fish is another of our new Cotswolds hotels member for 2018. You may already be familiar with the legendary Dormy House and Foxhill Manor (guests have included Lady Gaga and Take That), just outside Broadway.

The Fish is the third of these Cotswold Hotels on the Farncombe Estate, just outside Broadway. It’s a property that’s hard to describe but easy to love, with a group of houses perched on the side of a hill looking down over the valley to Broadway and far beyond - spectacular! They’ve also added some ‘Hilly Huts’ to the mix, with hot tubs and extra privacy - all very romantic.

Things at The Fish are all brought together by the lodge where guests can meet up in the beautifully located bar, restaurant and games room. Here too, design standards are very high and that ‘Scandi-cool’ phrase comes in again. It’s true through, rooms are calm, uncluttered and attractive, albeit full of the kind of luxuries that make for a great stay.

And if you’re wondering why this most contemporary of Cotswolds hotels is called The Fish? Well it seems that, in the 16th century, the Benedictine monks at Pershore kept their fish, preserved and cured, in caves on Fish Hill.
